The OX Sign in 2026 – A Better Year!

OX Years: 1925, 1937, 1949, 1961, 1973, 1985, 1997, 2009, 2021, and the next is 2033*

To begin with, congratulations to those born in the Year of the Ox. Most masters predict a good or very good year for people born under this sign, certainly better than 2025, the Year of the Snake.

As I have repeatedly stressed, these forecasts are merely one ingredient of the Chinese Lunar New Year festivities, or Spring Festival: new year, new me, as people like to say in the West! They do not stem from any formal traditional discipline. They simply take advantage of the fact that, once a person’s year of birth is known, one also knows (in the vast majority of cases) the earthly branch of that year and, consequently, the corresponding sign. They are therefore a light-hearted and curious way of celebrating the arrival of the Chinese New Year, playing with the symbolism of the twelve signs of the Eastern zodiac. This is not the traditional science of Bazi, although it is inspired by it.

Leaving this observation aside, what the masters — and their almanacs and YouTube channels — tend to emphasise is that 2026 begins with very positive energy for those born under the Ox, an energy that will last until January 2027.

It is true that there are some ‘negative energies’ during the year, but these are secondary, and the ‘auspicious stars’ clearly predominate.

The most important and powerful (symbolic) ‘stars’ this year in the destiny of people born under the Ox sign are the following: the Emperor Star (紫微) and Dragon Virtue (龍德). According to the almanacs, both ‘stars’ tend to attract the support of people who, due to their status and influence, can constitute important allies. From a career perspective, the almanacs say that for those working as employees the likelihood of a promotion increases. At the heart of all this lies a certain charisma and a form of soft power capable of transforming potential conflicts into consensus — almost a magical power!

On the negative side of the scales, the almanacs mention the existence of a few ‘negative’ stars of very secondary importance, but they single out one of them, the six harms (六害). Some almanacs attribute a certain importance to it, but most do not consider it sufficient to undermine the generally positive tone of the year.

What may be at stake is some gossip and misunderstandings, nothing more than that, they say. One feng shui master sums up the attitude to be adopted in the face of such eventualities with a very simple and practical statement: “just live your life as usual”!!!
